Knee joint is composed of three bones ,femur (thigh bone), tibia ( shin bone) and Patella (knee cap). The surfaces of these bones are covered with cartilage which allows smooth and pain free movement . When the cartilage is worn out or damaged it results in pain, swelling , stiffness, impaired mobility and deformity. Treatment of the knee problems varies based on the condition and may involve conservative approach or surgical options.

The total knee replacement (TKR) also known as total knee arthroplasty is a surgical procedure that involves the replacement of damaged or worn out joint with an artificial joint which comprises of metal components and plastic insert thereby allowing frictionless, pain-free movements between the new joint surfaces. Tkr is considered the gold standard for treatment of advanced arthritis of knees and is regarded as one of the most successful and gratifying surgeries all over the world.

Spinal Fusion Surgeries

Spinal fusion surgeries like Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion ( TLIF) and Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion ( PLIF) are performed in patients who present with Chronic Back Pain with or without radiating leg pain, numbness , weakness in legs and any bladder / bowel involvement and who have not improved despite adequate trial with conservative treatment.

The surgical procedure involves opening the affected area of spine from the posterior aspect, decompressing the spinal cord and the nerves and stabilizing spine with pedicle screws along with Rods. Fusion is achieved by putting autogenous bone graft with or without an Interbody Cage

Discectomy / Laminectomy

Discectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove herniated Disc which is causing compression on the nerves leading to Sciatica like pain , numbness, weakness and Bladder/ Bowel Incontinence.

The procedure can be performed either open or Endoscopic route. Patients are discharged either on the same day or on the next day after surgery.

Osteoporotic Fracture Surgeries

Osteoporosis presents a unique surgical challenge to clinicians as the bones are extremely soft and vulnerable to break even with a minimal injury.
